I’m just returning from a few weeks of intense client work and travel, and wanted to share my favorite new productivity tool.
For some months I have been looking for a good hands-free device for my mobile phone. Options I had tried either hurt my ear after long use, or had bad sound quality on one or both sides of the conversation. I even reached out to a bunch of colleagues asking for advice—and no one was truly happy with what they had.
So I did some research and finally found something I really like:
BlueParrott Roadwarrior B250-XT Bluetooth Wireless Headset
It appears this device is marketed less for business use and more for drivers of 18-wheelers (and for personal use). But it’s a great option. And while it’s a bit clunky (not very sexy to look at), it is the best solution I have found:
- Great outbound sound quality even if you are in a high-noise environment
- Comfortable to wear for long periods
- Volume is loud enough
- Rechargeable battery lasts a long time
I have used this while driving on a very noisy freeway. The person I was speaking to said they could hear me fine, with no background noise. The only downside is a little bit of the beginnings / endings of some sentences get clipped by the noise-cancelling microphone.
If you need to be able to use your phone in the car, I highly recommend this product!
